1. Is there a registration fee?
There is no registration fee; however we encourage all of our walkers to raise funds to help in the fight against cancer. All walkers who raise $100 will receive one free t-shirt by mail.

2. How should I walk?
The beauty of a virtual walk is that you can do it your way! You choose the location - your neighborhood, a park, on a trail or on a treadmill — the possibilities are endless! You can walk, run, skip, dance or jump the walk if you’d like! You can do the 4.5 mile walk all at once, or a little bit each day during the August 29 - September 12 period! We want everyone to do the walk in a way that you feel safe and comfortable.

3. Can I walk with a group?
Please follow the guidance from the CDC and local state officials on wearing masks and social distance. We recommend that you physically walk with those in your household. Safety has always been our top priority and that is why the walk is virtual this year. 

4. Will a virtual walk be fun?
We know we can never replace the atmosphere and sense of community at our in-person Champions Fighting Cancer Walk; however we have come up with creative ways to make this fun for everyone! We will have TONS of challenges and contests to help you or you and your team fundraise while having fun and earning some great prizes! You can come up with fun team attire, create an awesome playlist, and post pictures/videos on social media.

5. Do I have to join a team to register?
No. You can visit www.championsfightingcancerwalk.org to register as an individual, start a team or join a team.

6. What do I do after I register?
Once you have registered, please log in to your Participant Center, customize your personal page and begin your fundraising!

7. What is a personal page?
Your personal page is a webpage dedicated to your fundraising efforts.  Your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors can visit this webpage to donate to you online and see your progress.

8. Can I collect donations offline?
Yes. We are encouraging walkers to use the website when possible for safety reasons, however if internet access is limited or if your supporters are not comfortable donating online, you can print this form to record you sponsors. If you fill up the whole form, you can absolutely print multiple copies! Please return it with donations to: Signature Healthcare, Office of Development, 680 Centre St. Brockton, MA 02302 by September 19, 2021. Checks should be made payable to Champions Fighting Cancer Walk.

9. Will there be t-shirts and sweatshirts available this year?
Absolutely! The virtual format allows us to provide more options for walk attire! This year, walkers who raise $100 will receive one free t-shirt by mail. Additional shirts, sweatshirts, and other walk gear will be available for purchase online. We will share the apparel shop link on social media and by e-mail once it is available.

10. How do you know I completed my walk?
To be honest, we don’t. But we hope you will get out and walk to help support our patients by raising funds so we can provide the best quality cancer care in our community. We would love it if you would share photos of your walk with us! You can post them on social media with the #ChampsWalkTheFight or e-mail them to VFlynn@signature-healthcare.org

11. I do not have social media-- is that ok?
Absolutely!  Anyone can participate! You can share your fundraising pages by e-mail, snail mail, or via text. Any way you are able to reach out to your contacts is great! In addition to posting contests on social media, we will share them by e-mail - so keep an eye out for information.

12. Will there be any in-person celebration?
Unfortunately, we will not hold any in-person gatherings for the walk this year. However, we are planning an AWESOME end of walk video celebration! This will be live on YouTube on Sunday, September 26, 2021. We will share photos, stories, and videos from our walkers. Make sure to use #ChampsWalkTheFight or send us your photos or videos for a chance to be included! If you are interested in being a part of the Celebration please contact Valerie Flynn.
